About NORTH
Every live map engine keeps its place names screen-upright no matter how the map is rotated — the labels re-billboard rather than turning with the geometry. Which means a map can be turned to any bearing and still look perfectly legitimate. NORTH is built on that one quirk: five real maps a day, each at a random bearing, and your only move is to turn them back.
There's no compass, no terrain-shading shadow to read, nothing that rotates with the map. Just the towns, the roads and the rivers — and whatever you know about where places are.
